About the project

I worked with two dancers to provide scenic design for the ceremony of the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève. I filmed Giuseppe and Anne Charlotte on green and black screens and edited the videos to be displayed while they danced during the live ceremony.

The goal was to let the dancers be the main focus and enhance their performance by adding another artistic layer displayed on the giant screens.

The dancers each represent the hand of a watch. During the performance, they gradually get closer to tell a story about time, connection and love.

Tableau 1

The first tableau is the meeting between the short and long hand.

Tableau 2

The second tableau was a dance piece taking place across the ceremony venue, I did not intervene in this part.

Tableau 3

In the third tableau, the dancers were on a platform in front of a screen. They danced very close to each other while a video of them that I had twisted and warped was projected on top of their bodies.

Tableau 4

The fourth tableau was a dance in which the dancers successively formed letters of the words Panta Rhei with their bodies.

Panta Rhei is a greek phrase attributed to Heraclitus of Ephesus meaning everything flows.

When the dancers formed each letter, it appeared on the screens behind them. Once the phrase was complete, I highlighted the letters on the projected video.
